Where can I download Budget0?

Do I need an internet connection?
No, Budget0 works completely offline once downloaded. All your data is processed and stored locally on your device. You only need an internet connection for the initial download from the app store and for optional cloud backups.
Is there a trial version?
Currently, Budget0 doesn't offer a trial version. However, at $2.99, we believe it offers exceptional value for budgeting and finance management. All app stores offer refund policies if the app doesn't meet your needs.

Are there any recurring fees?
No, Budget0 is a one-time purchase. You pay $2.99 once and own the app forever. There are no subscriptions, no premium tiers, and no additional features to purchase.
Do I have to pay again for updates?

Can I use Budget0 on multiple devices?

How do refunds work?

Does Budget0 collect my data?
No, Budget0 does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything you enter stays on your device. We don't have servers that store user data, we don't use analytics that track your usage, and we don't require any personal information to use the app. Your budgets, budget reports, and all financial data remain 100% private and under your control.
Where is my data stored?
All your data is stored locally on your device in the app's private storage area. When you export to PDF or back up to the cloud, your data stays under your control. Nothing is ever sent to external servers without your explicit action.
What about GDPR compliance?
Since Budget0 doesn't collect, process, or store any personal data on servers, GDPR requirements are inherently met. We don't track users, don't use cookies for tracking, and don't share any data with third parties because we simply don't have access to your data.
Can anyone else see my budgets?
No, your budgets are completely private. Since all data stays on your device, there's no way for anyone else to access your budgets unless they have physical access to your device. Budget0 also supports PIN and biometric authentication for additional security.
What happens if I delete the app?
If you delete the Budget0 app, all your data stored within the app will be permanently deleted. We recommend regularly backing up to the cloud via iCloud or Google Drive. Since we don't store data on servers, we cannot recover lost data.

What is zero-based budgeting?
Zero-based budgeting is our core philosophy. Instead of loosely estimating expenses, you start from zero and intentionally assign every dollar of your income to specific categories. This ensures complete visibility of where money is allocated and prevents spending from going untracked.
How does smart categorization work?
Our smart categorization engine takes your income and expense items and automatically suggests categories based on the item name. It uses pattern matching and local machine learning to improve suggestions over time. You can always manually adjust the category afterward.
Can I export my budget reports?
Yes, you can export your budget reports to PDF format for sharing or archival. The PDF export creates a professional-looking document with your budget summary, income and expense items, and category breakdowns. You can also back up your data to the cloud via iCloud or Google Drive.
What languages are supported?
Budget0 supports 14 languages: English, Spanish (Español), French (Français), German (Deutsch), Dutch (Nederlands), Italian (Italiano), Portuguese (Português), Russian (Русский), Polish (Polski), Swedish (Svenska), Turkish (Türkçe), Korean (한국어), Japanese (日本語), and Chinese (中文). You can switch languages at any time in the settings, and the entire interface will update to your selected language.
Can I track income and expenses?
Yes, Budget0 lets you track both income and expenses in each budget. You can categorize items, mark expenses as fixed or variable, and view detailed breakdowns with charts and summaries.
What currencies are supported?
Budget0 supports 25 currencies including USD ($), EUR (€), GBP (£), JPY (¥), CAD (C$), AUD (A$), CHF, CNY (¥), KRW (₩), INR (₹), BRL (R$), MXN ($), RUB (₽), SEK (kr), NOK (kr), DKK (kr), PLN (zł), TRY (₺), ZAR (R), SGD (S$), HKD (HK$), NZD (NZ$), AED (د.إ), SAR (﷼), and ILS (₪). Which devices are supported?
Budget0 is available for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android devices. The app features an adaptive layout optimized for both phones and tablets.
How much storage space does Budget0 use?
Budget0 itself is very lightweight, typically using less than 50MB for the app. Your data storage depends on how many budgets and income and expense items you create, but even hundreds of budgets typically use less than 100MB of storage.
Can I sync data between devices?
Budget0 includes cloud backup via iCloud on iOS and Google Drive on Android. You can back up your data and restore it on another device, keeping your budgets safe and portable.
Can I backup my data?
Yes, we strongly recommend regular backups. You can back up to the cloud via iCloud on iOS or Google Drive on Android. You can also export your budgets as PDF for archival purposes.
Will Budget0 work on tablets?
Yes, Budget0 is optimized for both phones and tablets. On iPad and Android tablets, you'll enjoy a larger workspace with an adaptive sidebar layout that makes managing your budgets even easier.
Troubleshooting
My budgets disappeared, what happened?
If your budgets have disappeared, it's likely that the app's data was cleared or the app was reinstalled. Unfortunately, since we don't store data on servers, we cannot recover lost data. We recommend regularly backing up to the cloud to prevent data loss.
The app isn't working properly, what should I do?
Try these steps: 1) Force close the app and restart it, 2) Check if there's an update available in your app store, 3) Restart your device, 4) If issues persist, contact support with details about your device model and OS version.
Smart categorization isn't working as expected
Make sure you've entered a descriptive name for your income or expense item. The smart categorization learns from your past choices, so it improves over time. You can always manually select or change the category for any item.
PDF export is failing
Ensure you have enough storage space on your device for the PDF file. Try exporting a smaller budget first to test. If the issue persists, check that the app has necessary permissions to save files on your device.
The app crashes on startup
This is rare but can happen if the app's data becomes corrupted. Try: 1) Updating to the latest version, 2) Restarting your device, 3) If nothing works, you may need to reinstall the app (note: this will delete your data unless you've made cloud backups).
