Budget0 is built on a foundation of absolute privacy. We believe your budgets and financial data are yours alone. This privacy policy explains how we achieve complete data privacy by design.

1. Information We DON'T Collect

Budget0 does not collect, store, or have access to:

• Personal Information: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any identifying information
• Financial Data: Your budgets, income, expenses, or any financial information
• Usage Data: How you use the app, which features you access, or when you use it
• Device Information: Device IDs, IP addresses, or browser fingerprints
• Location Data: GPS coordinates or location-based information
• Analytics: No Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no usage metrics
• Cookies: No tracking cookies or persistent identifiers

2. How Budget0 Works

Budget0 is a local-first application:

• All computation happens directly on your device
• Data is stored in your device's local database
• Settings and preferences are saved locally on your device
• PDF exports are generated locally and saved to your device
• Cloud backups are sent directly to your personal iCloud or Google Drive account

3. Data Storage

Where Your Data Lives

All Budget0 data is stored exclusively on your device:

• Application Storage: Your budgets and financial data are stored in the app's private database
• Settings Storage: Your preferences and app settings remain on your device
• File System: Exported PDFs and budget reports are saved to your chosen location

Data Persistence

• Data remains on your device until you delete it
• Uninstalling the app will remove all stored data
• We cannot recover deleted data because we never had access to it
• Regular backups through cloud backup or PDF export are recommended

4. Third-Party Services

Budget0 uses minimal third-party services:

• PDF Generation: Built into the app for creating PDF exports. No external services are used.
• Cloud Backup: Optional backup to your personal iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android) account. Data goes directly to your cloud storage, not to our servers.
• App Stores: Apple App Store and Google Play Store handle the purchase and download process according to their privacy policies, but they never receive your Budget0 data.

5. Data Sharing

We don't share your data because we don't have your data:

• No data is sold to third parties
• No data is shared with partners
• No data is used for advertising
• No data is provided to governments or law enforcement (we couldn't even if asked)

6. Data Security

Your data security is inherent in our design:

• Data never travels over the internet to our servers
• No risk of server breaches affecting your data
• PIN and biometric authentication protect access to the app
• Your device's security is your data's security

7. GDPR Compliance

Budget0 is inherently GDPR compliant because:

• We don't process personal data
• We don't store personal data on our servers
• We don't transfer data
• You have complete control over your data
• You can delete all data at any time by uninstalling the app
• No consent is needed because no data is collected

8. CCPA Compliance

For California residents, Budget0 complies with CCPA because:

• We don't collect personal information
• We don't sell personal information
• There's no data to request access to
• There's no data to request deletion of (it's already only on your device)

9. Children's Privacy

Budget0 doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13, because we don't collect data at all. The app can be safely used by anyone without privacy concerns.

10. International Users

Budget0 can be used from anywhere in the world with the same privacy guarantees. Since no data leaves your device, there are no international data transfers to worry about.

11. Your Rights

With Budget0, you have complete rights over your data:

• Access: You can see all your data anytime (it's on your device)
• Modification: You can change any data anytime
• Deletion: You can delete any or all data anytime
• Portability: You can export your data anytime
• No Profiling: We don't create profiles or make automated decisions

12. Data Breach Notification

Since we don't store your data on our servers, a breach of our systems cannot compromise your Budget0 data. Your data's security depends entirely on your device's security.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. However, we will never change our fundamental commitment: we don't collect your data.

• Check your device storage - all Budget0 data is stored locally
• The app works completely offline after initial download
